Thai tax on UK earnings
Re: Thai tax on UK earnings
I think if you have income from a UK business, somewhere along the line, the UK taxman will take his share.
Talk is cheap
Re: Thai tax on UK earnings
You need to think about the amount you expect to earn, from either pensions or your business interests.
As an ex pat you will get your UK personal allowance: so your first 12,500 pounds approx should be tax free.
If you cannot claim any reliefs then you will be taxed at basic rate tax on income above 12,500 pounds. 20% I think.
If you are going to receive much above 15k or 20k a year, find a local accountant and pay a few hundred pounds.

If resident in Thailand you can elect to have income taxed in Thailand. Pensions any form of government pension are taxed in the UK. Some pensions can be paid tax free in the UK but taxed in the country you are resident in. This is a complex subject, best advice is go to your bank, they may have a department that deals with this, if not, go to a specialist accountant. Beryl on facebook or Sid on a web page are not the best to ask.
Woke up this morning breathing that's a good start to the day.

The official UK Government website is far more understandable than it was some years ago:
https://www.gov.uk/tax-uk-income-live-abroad
In my experience, it´s normally a simple matter as long as you genuinely live outside the UK, it only becomes complicated if you get into this Resident/Non-resident, Domiciled/Non-domiciled argument which is largely incomprehensible to normal people.

Re: Thai tax on UK earnings
Just found this thread(if there are others on this subject please advise.....) my query relates to UK tax on UK income not Thai tax
Wondered who is the local Hua Hin 'Guru' on UK tax(resident/non-resident etc) on this forum ?
or anyone know/recommend a Professional operating in Thailand, preferably HH but i guess likely Bangkok, that i can officially consult ?
My case is small potatoes, as they say, nothing complicated at all
Thanks in advance
