FTA

Post by canthai »

I was in Hua Hin early this month. I went to Big Kiang and asked if they knew or if they sold and insalled FTA satelite systems. They seem confused and were trying to sell me a UBC setup. I know there is a comapny in Bangkok willing to come to Hua Hin and do it but it certainly would be more convenient for alocal business. If anyone knows of someone in Hua Hin that can do this for me I would appreciate their name and phone number.

Depends on what FTA system and coverage you want.

SAMART have a FTA package for 8000 baht, it's very easy to do it yourself. This has limited coverage off Thaicom 5, all the Thai channels, uni learning channels and NBT cable(Thai programming). Don't expect BBC or CNN. It's only a 20" dish so setup is no problem.

If you want better coverage, expect to spend more. I've got a 8' moving dish C\Ku band digital setup; it has some inbuilt decoding and you can get one with a card-slot option. I'm quite pleased with the setup from Dynasat. Setup is a bit of a hassle, if you've not done this before you may want to get someone to get it done.
