Re: Cost of living in Hua Hin

I took a different spin on this topic, which is the situation of "no tax" in Thailand. If I would live in Europe, I would need to pay tax of at least 10k Euro per year (capital gain tax and wealth tax on private pension funds), that is around 425k Baht or 35k Baht per Month. That is alread...

Re: Have you decided to leave Thailand and/or Hua Hin?

Great to read all these stories and what motivates people, a lot of soul-searching as well. Although I am not living yet (with my wife) in Thailand (next year is the plan), I have lived and worked around the world, and it is such a privilege, it opens your eyes to many cultures and different kind of...

Re: Hi Folks - Just arrived

Hi, Good to see that there are also couples getting over here for retirement, and not only guys looking for ladies... :-) (I am okay with that, to be clear, but it is nice to see a mix of pensionados) Would love to hear about your experience finding a nice place, we will be in the same position by m...

Re: Hi from Turkey

Hi Jim, Welcome (I am new as well). How did you decide on Turkey for Retirement and not Thailand? Reason for asking, we have been comparing Spain, Turkey and Thailand, and so far we think Thailand fits best for retirement, but it is never an easy decision. In Turkey you can afford a nice house at th...
