Re: Soi 94 resurfacing work

Stop Press! Concrete laid on Soi 94. From the 7/11 west to about half way to the cross roads by the 'Irish' pub. LH side only, but, wow, what a sight!

Re: Soi 94 resurfacing work

I'm still housebound guys. I presume the work on Soi 94 has finished. How's it looking please? Drove through yesterday evening, was quite bad. I used Messenger video (voice alone an alternative) successfully yesterday. Obviously both/all parties need to be on that application.

Re: Thai Wife's UK Visa Application Refused.

This must be so frustrating for all of you, particularly when you consider how irregular/illegal immigration is occurring on a daily basis across the beaches of Kent. I won't suggest that you consider that method. For what it's worth, I have shelved the idea of taking my wife of a mere 12 years to A...

Re: Tax residency in Thailand and taxing overseas income

All foreigners clocking up 180 days residence here, or more, during the calendar year 2024 should obtain a tax identification number from the Thai Revenue Department. https://www.pattayamail.com/latestnews/news/all-thailands-expatriates-should-register-with-trd-says-tax-expert-478899 Unless they ha...

Re: The Beer Thread 2

One more thing (promise). I see that Gourmet Market now has a very limited stock of Heart of Darkness beers brewed in Saigon. It's crazy expensive, but worth it for a treat now and then. I especially like Kurtz's Insane IPA (7.1%), Loose Rivet New England IPA (7.5%) and The River IPA (5.7%). Accord...

I admire your optimism :D but it should be doable indeed.

I can see a tunnel being just the right solution . . . in the rainy season.

Re: Driving: why Thaiโ€™s โ€œback inโ€?

When was this - BC or AD :D  ? Not part of my test 35 odd years ago and not part of tests my nephew has taken - for that matter, the LHG had to take one when she came to the UK as her Chinese license wasn't accepted (long term). That was back in the 60's. Admittedly I took my basic driving te...

I saw that too, but thought it might be the car owner's security. But then I remembered where I was . . .
That said, it wasn't a very robust clamp.

I have a collection of such photos - but the best for me was in a menu which described a green curry as including 'baby aborigines'.

Re: An odd 90 day report - thoughts anyone?

I drove out to Immigration this Tuesday for a re-entry permit and was surprised to get a bonus in the shape of my 90 day report extended by six weeks or so. No questions, no arguments!
