Mut Mee Guest House in Nong Kai - big sign "Under no circumstances may ladies from the town be brought to your room, anyone found doing so will be asked to leave immediately"!! The place is full of well heeled laptop carriers pretending to be backpackers. The place even has its own yoga te...

I couldnt agree more with the OP. Dual pricing, bieng ripped off, LOS only when their hand is being filled, officious and corrupt systems. Having just come back from 2 weeks in Cambodia, the difference couldnt be more noticable - happy, genuinly friendly, same prices for bikes/tuk tuks as for locals...

When does a bargirl become a girlfriend - (when you stop paying her ?) never stop getting the hand in the wallet for woman married or not!

Presumably these pricks would also ask if a western man and woman are married !!
Always best to check discreetly with reception first or book a doublle room and tell them your friend is joining you later I guess

Bar/Girl/Friend

There I was sat sitting and pondering... There are not many hotels in Thailand that are not "girl friendly" (I have only come across one). So when does a bar girl become a girlfriend and is 'acceptable' to the hotel ? Any relationship starts on one day, so if you meet a girl, next day agai...

Having re read Mr Plum's second post. I realise I did not respond to a valid question he wrote That was There have been some troubling treatments adopted by the psychiatric industry, such as 'lobotomy' and 'electro-shock' therapy. In your experience would you day these were appropriate therapies? Lo...

I do not disagree with much of what you say but there are some points I do take issue with: Not all psycotropic drugs can be described as brain changing, libido-numbing, zombie-making, toxic potions. Very very few people with serious mental illness are able to get away from a toxic wife, toxic gover...

A lengthy post Mr Plum and a load of tosh therin is written. yes some psychiatrists rely too heavily of drugs (some of which do help in the short term), and many do not. Such generalisations and your use of statistics are incorrect .Not all people are able to retire early, get on a plane and escape ...

Have Maxnet Indy package. Also my connection same as OP for past week. Watch out for the well built guy at the Maxnet office (service engineer) - he will try to rip you off. So if he offers to come out and sort it for you only do business in the office so he is forced to give receipt That really pis...

In Hua Hin (only) if you own your house they insist on 24 hour reporting.
now, they are OK if you go for 24 hour reporting over 24 hours if you tell them that you have (maybe ) been in Bangkok a few days after arriving back in the country.
yes they can and will fine you if they feel so inclined
