Re: Tiger's career could now be over

We'll have to dust off this thread now and ignore all the previous stories about him being finished. It appears he has a few good years left in him. Good for golf to see him back. Re: Small road trip Pattaya Sattahip Rayong

You can't get in that main front gate with the sea plane, or any of the military area gates, unless Thai and leave your ID card at the front office to be picked up when you leave, or with a special work pass if a foreigner. You get into the airport by the road that runs north/south next to Queen Sir...

Read it for the content, not the title. Hard to find so much modern history of the country condensed into one place like there is in that web site. Pete

Ok, thanks. That clarifies it for me. I was thinking that it was some kind of central assessment. Pete

European Union new motor vehicle tax

Is the EU tax on new vehicles higher than it was when controlled by the individual countries? I ask as I've been watching some car shows on TV which review vehicles and show prices in EU, and what I see seems a very high cost for the type/brand of cars shown. I'm thinking they've instituted somethin...

Re: Monday night buffet at Dusit Thani

I would venture to guess what Migrant saw at the Dusit won't be permanent. Perhaps a low season offering? Once the Holidays get here and all the tourists I would bet they go back to full meat etc. Someone should check with them in a month. Pete

...........[Edit] Does anybody know what date that map is? I've found it fascinating looking around it, and the changes. Of particular note is the area where Baan Kun Por is these days.
If you right click it you get the below:
