Re: Monday night buffet at Dusit Thani

I would venture to guess what Migrant saw at the Dusit won't be permanent. Perhaps a low season offering? Once the Holidays get here and all the tourists I would bet they go back to full meat etc. Someone should check with them in a month. Pete

...........[Edit] Does anybody know what date that map is? I've found it fascinating looking around it, and the changes. Of particular note is the area where Baan Kun Por is these days.
If you right click it you get the below:

Re: Do the Blue Buses Still run Hua Hin/Bangkok

It's a handsome map! 8) but probably has a few errors now. It popped up right near the top on a Google search for the road name/hua hin/blue bus/map. Pete

Note: The map interactive capability still works as well. :D

Re: Do the Blue Buses Still run Hua Hin/Bangkok

Look at the below map. You can see Sra Song road on the left of it. Look for the "Night Market" name with the red coloured star. You'll see the bus place right beneath that. Pete

Re: Do the Blue Buses Still run Hua Hin/Bangkok

Way back when the blue bus service nationwide was started by the Gov to assure all of the population had a way to get to and from Bangkok. Before them were the orange busses with wooden floors and sometimes sides! My guess is the blues are still heavily subsidized. No chance of them stopping...

Hmmm. See my note in "Thailand Calendar" about the Chinese Autumn Festival. They may not have fully thought through their service suspension. Pete

Note: Below are full holidays in China with many taking vacation the week between September 24 and October 1. Therefore, you may see a marked increase in tourists during that entire 16 day period.
