Re: Hua Hin battered by rain and wind

The worst storm I have experienced in my time living in Thailand, the level in our fish pond rose by half a metre and our soi (just behind Pranburi hospital) was more akin to a river in spate. Other than a few trees down on the property no real damage to our house, thank goodness.

Re: Indigestion

You can purchase sachets of ginger from Makro/Tesco and various outlets, a wonderful natural cure for reflux/heartburn. Also packets of ginger sweets are readily available. No kickback unless you are allergic to ginger.

Re: Routine Eye Sight tests in Thailand

I would heartily second hhfarang's recommendation of Dr. Pairat as I have attended him for the last 8 years or so and find him highly professional and fair in his costs.

Apparently employers pay the mini-van drivers per journey hence their need for speed so they can complete as many journeys as possible and earn maximum daily pay.

Re: Express train hit a pickup truck in Pranburi 120 injure

This incident occurred on a full-road rail crossing in Pranburi approximately 1 kilometre east of Tesco. Do not know what happened but I guess it might have been that the pick-up tried to negotiate the barriers whilst they were down... have seen this happen many times.

Quite surprised at this post. My daughter, on a visit from Scotland, visited the surgery earlier this year for teeth cleaning and descaling and was given a large discount due to the fine state of her teeth. Can't be bad!!!

Healthcare Parts 1 & 2

Waiting with bated breath for the next episodes. The health related articles contained humour, romance and not a little cynicism and they were a real eye-opener on available local healthcare facilities.
