Thanks for all the useful advice friends. I am back in the US after a far too brief visit to Hua Hin, but I am coming back soon for a much longer stay. Before I made my recent trip to Thailand, my diabetes took a downturn and I now require insulin. The only trouble I had when traveling with my insul...

Thank you. The address would be most helpful.
I will be visiting HH soon, (within 3 months) to make arrangements for a much longer stay. This website and these forums have been very helpful and informative, making planning of my trip much easier.

Can I bring a supply of my diabetes medicine to HH?

I am non-insulin dependent, but I do have to take a series of pills for my diabetes and my blood pressure. I read in other threads that the pharmacies there are sufficient for most purposes, but I have been caught without my medicines before and I really don't care to repeat the experience.

Thanks!
I am primarily a novelist so I guess the work permit won't be needed.
That's a relief.

A question about Writers

While I am retired and have a more than comfortable income from other means, I still make a decent amount of money as a writer.
Does writng for profit count as needing a work permit when I finally get moved to HH?

The article was about expats living in Asia. Specifically military retirees moving to Asia rather than remain in the US.
I'll see if I can find that magazine again somewhere.

I was doing some research for a new novel when I happened to see an article in a magazine that mentioned your website. Unfortunately I can't for the life of me remember the name of the magazine or who wrote it. What I do remember was that the author made your website, and your community, sound fasci...

I first visited Thailand about 20 years ago while I was in the USN.
I have been thinking about retiring to HH and your site here has made the decision a lot easier.
Look for me there within the next 2 years. It has to be saner there than here in the US right now.
