Krabi forum
Hi everyone, I'm coming back to Thailand, with my disabled wife, in January, and this time we are going to give Krabi a look. I haven't booked any accommodation as yet and wondered if anyone knew the website/address of a Krabi forum, if there is one, similar to this one, so that I might seek out som...

Re: Bobby's Bar.
Centremid, It's on soi 102, a little south of Market Village, up beyond the railtracks about 2 kms according to what I've read. Thanks to everyone else who responded. In the event, I decided to try Buffalo Bill's place. I am still sceptical about the "free lunch", but I respect your views....

Bobby's Bar.
There's an old adage (which usually turns out to be true) that states; "There's no such thing as a free lunch!"
Bobby's Bar, on soi 102 advertises a "free Sunday lunch" provided a certain amount of alcohol is purchased.
Does anyone have any comments on this?

Backyard steakhouse.
I've not seen any reviews on "backyard steakhouse" located on soi 62. They advertise steak buffets for only 159 baht! Surely this cannot be good quality imported steak, can it? I've recently reviewed "Terrace 90" where I had an excellent sirloin for 335 baht. Can anyone comment o...

First time at Naab Thong.
I took my wife to Naab Thong for the first time today (thanks to the recommendation on the Hua Hin forum) and we thoroughly enjoyed our visit. My wife is not "into Thai food" at present so she had the home made sausages, while I had samosas with mango chutney, followed by sweet and sour po...

Back home, on the kent coast, there is a company called "Gullguard", which specialises in the prevention of allowing gulls to perch etc on roofs. They do this by affixing 1 or 2 wires, suspended 4-6 inches above the apex of the roof and similarly above the chimney stack. This method seems ...

Terrace 90 --- What a steak!
I've just had a meal at "Terrace 90" which was my first, but it certainly will not be my last. I couldn't let it pass without making a comment. I've personally had trouble locating a restaurant in Thailand which serves a good steak at a reasonable price. Last year I was in Phuket and the o...

Re: Tap water
Thanks for all that. Much as I suspected, the general concensus is that it is OK. I should point out that I live in Dymchurch (inbetween Folkestone & Hastings on the Kent coast), and it's terrible trying to make a cup of tea using water straight from the tap! I use a jug water filter which needs...

Tap water
I've been in Hua Hin for almost 1 month and have always, as per general advice, refrained from "drinking" the tap water.
I do however make tea and coffee with it, having first, of course, boiled it.
Am I being irresponsible, or does anyone else out there follow this pattern?
David.

Re: Wheelchair-friendly terrain/accomodation
Thanks again, I too have seen those "ride-on-reverse-off" trikes, both here, and in the UK. Alas, my wife cannot drive. She has a mobility scooter back home ( 4 mph) but I always accompany her, and that's not just for her welfare either! I'll have a virtual look at those 2 places you menti...

Wrong forum.
I've just posted a topic entitled "Wheelchair-friendly terrain/accommodation" expecting to see it appear in the "ask the expats" forum, but it has wound up in the "accommodation" forum. Is it possible to get it relocated?
