R.I.P. George Pipas

A Bangkok legend, one of the first go-go bar owners in Patpong and the proprietor of Texas Lone Staar Restaurant and Bar on Washington Square, Sukhumvit Soi 22, Bangkok, George Pipas, passed away in late July.
I only heard about this about an hour ago while reading the latest news letter of Darts Thailand. The first time I ventured the venue was in -89 and although I didn´t go there regularly for almost another ten years, I was a manager there in early -99 for a short spell.
George was a real character and well-known figure in that area. He was 86 when he passed away. He had been living in Bangkok for almost 50 years and was a veteran of the II Wolrd War.
