The end of the day may be late, but the beginning isn't...Luxrebel wrote:Does anyone know if the Ryder Cup will be shown on Thai tv over the weekend? Just wondering because it will be on so late I dont want to go out to watch it.
This is the way
Well we lost it... no, sorry, better put the USA team WON it.
As usual it was a fantastic sporting occasion - grit, determination, emotion and huge levels of skill were on show from some of the worlds best.
What went wrong for Europe? Some of Faldos omissions could be questioned - Ollie Wilson should have played in the 2nd day 4balls, Jimenez in the 4somes - maybe the early mid order could have been loaded a little more - 3 in forms never got their scores on the board - Westwood, Gmac and Poulter.
Harrington's ball striking way off - his spirit and determination were evident but he just couldnt hit the killer shots which we saw earlier in the season.
Sergio hit to many rank bad iron shots - he was inconsistent with his irons and his putter was cold.
Casey didnt seem to ever get fired up - he just seemed to be feeling sorry for himself.
Westwood - tried so hard but again not at his best.
Bottom line Azinger fired his guys up so much, he used the crowd to his advantage and set the course up to suit his players - awesome performance by them and well done. Faldo made some errors (IMO) the press will revel in it! He is a colder character and maybe he struggled to get his guys fired up – Langer managed it though! The +tives for Europe and Faldos saviour was Poulter –picked purely on the back of his final 9 at the Open – this guy doesn’t need anyone to pump him up – I actually find him a bit over the top but loved watching him get right in the battle (friends tell me he is a great guy, will sign autographs for ages etc). Would Clarke have made any difference – I think he may have – massive team guy where Casey isn’t – Monty – sorry don’t think so – his game just isn’t as sharp as it was.
All golf fans can look forward to a great return match in 2 years time.

I thought it was a great event!... of course I'm an American. It is my favorite golfing event and I look forward to it every two years. Where else can you see 24 of probably the 40 best golfers in the world take each other on in teams and singles.
Great venue, Valhalla too. I watched every minute of it and never got bored.
Some of the best golf was played by RC rookies on both sides!
That means there'll be more great years ahead too! Didn't miss Tiger a bit!
