Might be able to get another thread out of that one kendo, could call it 'vanity', sure most of us have come across situations like that, could be interesting/explosive.

I think there is a thread on that already from not too long ago? We were talking about farangs being attracted to darker Thai women, and Thai men being attracted to whiter Thai women etc. Also, Thai darker women not wanting to be seen as 'field workers' thus striving to get rid of the rural look.

It goes far beyond the 'white cream' factor as well. There is a thriving business for nose jobs, to get rid of the "Lao valley" by inserting a bridge....just to look like the Bangkok girls. Pete

Khorat is in Issan
Yup, thats what I've always counted it as, it was just Buksi's definition of it being East of Korat (suggesting City).

Anyway, in the updated definition, I will vote Bkk, because that's where she's initially from! :?

Why would you expect flak? This is no different from the 'pale complexion' theme that spitfire thought might be explosive - the whiter you are and the pointier your nose (excepting the recently sacked PM, of course), the higher you are in the social scale, and the more internationally appealing you are. This shouldn't be news to anyone. It shouldn't be necessary, either, but that's another question altogether.

What is a Eurasian?

What are umbrellas for? They protect you from the sun, not from the rain. Why do women on motorcy use one hand to hold anything available to protect themselves from the sun, rather than having it on the handlebar to reduce the risk of imminent death?

The Thais are amongst the most openly (and in some ways innocently) racist people in the world. If you are black you work outside, therefore you are poor.

Voted Isaan as thats where her heart is, 107k NE of Korat City. We're not going to live there, though. The City area maybe.

Nakhon Sawan North?

Certainly not part of the Lanna speaking part of 'The North'.

Culturally, 'Northern' Thailand just about starts creeping in at about Kamphaeng Phet province (and that's only because of relatively recent southbound migrants) and gets gradually stronger through Tak and Phitsanulok up towards Lampang, by which time you are definitely in Lanna Thai country. Draw a line from Tak through Sukothai towards Phitsanulok and you have roughly the dividing line between the Lanna Thai speaking region and central Thailand below it. I think you need to split it as you have done the south into say North central Thailand and Lanna proper. I appreciate that you can't continue to subdivide ad infinitum but Lanna is as culturally and historically distinct a region as Isaan so to lose it in a 'North' section that starts as far south as Nakhon Sawan is just plain wrong!
