Apologies, I said Chomsin when I meant Nebkarab (sic)............
I guessed so from others' reports. If you are talking about the section immediately before the lights, there is a Chinese store on the corner selling wooden carvings and bricabrac, there are at least two restaurants, a pharmacy, maybe a opticians still, and on the Naebkerhars corner, a Chinese Restaurant. I am sure I have missed a couple of units.

I got a bit on Happy Toro Bar today and some more on Friendly Bar (Selekam, now Moonlight). Can you help with dates. We are never going to get exact dates but Q1 1999. mid 1998 or just plain 2000 is better than nothing.

In case anybody is wondering about some of my strange spelling, I am using the same spelling as on the HHAD map, for consistency.

Added +++++++++++++++++++

I have enough to collate now but keep posting. Exact locations are being gathered slowly and dates are sketchy. I could really do with a list of the order of today's premises in Binthabat and Poolsuk, (Selakam I know already, I think), to use as a reference.

I will send out a spreadsheet with the info so far to all those I have addresses for. A couple of points:

My map only really covers the "square" surrounded by the sea, Chom Sin, the railway and Damnoen Kasem.

I would like to add farang guesthouses, restaurants and other businesses such as maybe Asia properties (although they could be off the map).

Lomu - the German restaurant on Kanjanomai was mentioned by Roel earlier cos I couldn't remember the name. It was right opposite Hare and Hounds. Jarvis threw a cat at it once, and the poor creature just kind of slid slowly down the wall with a loud scraping of claws! The restaurant also suffered a reign of terror from pellet rifles for a while. It was Nord Deutche Restaurant, run by Ouvre. Remember the closing record blasted out from H & H? Chosen by Peter I think - 'There'll Always Be An England'

Anyway I digress. Guess - re other places. What about the Coffee Shop on Naebkerhardt? Again I need help with the name, but farang run by the guy who supplied bars etc with espresso machines and ground coffee. Buksi knows it.
And don't forget Bamboo Grove, although I don't know when it opened.

Several places on Satukharn of course, but farang ones few and far between and probably impossible to back track on now.

When did David start up in the Night Plaza?

And that big bar next to Grand Market was definitely open in 2000.

And there was a small bar next to the night market on Canal Rd, by the driving range. That was farang owned too.

I remember that well. What happened to Ouvre?

Is that Boncafe (now Amarcord, Italien restaurant)?

Hi Saint HuaHinian - yes - Bon Cafe - thankyou. Sorry to hear that the owners have changed but maybe it's still the same?
Ouvre - no I don't know what happened to him.He did some very good food, and was also a quite accomplished musician on keyboard. He maybe had some deal going on with tour operators, because there would be nights on end with very few customers, then a large party would arrive to much music and thigh slapping!

The halo reference was supposed to be linked to the Saint!

I´ve totally forgotten one or two bars. Part of what is now Lolitas there was a small bar called Bull´s Eye. It was run by Swiss Roger and had the only electric dart board in town. Roger went back to Switzerland in 2003 and if I remember correctly Willo then made it part of his guest house. Opposite from Willo´s and BE there were, and I think still are, two small bars. One was called Suzy Bar, the other one I can´t remember.

I've lived here for 6 years, been coming over for 17 years, possibly been in every bar in Huahin and Cha-am, I couldn't tell you the address of more than three bars or even know their name!
Sad. :D
PS. I was going to add "Bast$rds", but I didn't want to upset anyone.

You are dead right here.Swiss Roger decided that he could no longer afford rent on Bullseye to Pete Wilson so he gave it up but continued to drink in caddyshack across the road. The most incredible thing that he did was to cut the electric meter out obviously by using mega thick rubber gloves while cutting and leaving the live 10 mil cable, perhaps also earthing himself to the ground(never seen many earth cables in thailand especially in ropey electric showers). This in a way spelt the end for Willo guest house as he needed that rent to top up from what he made from his little interior pool table and outside bar ably assisted by On's nieces from Korat.Caddyshack is one of the bars you are thinking off but last I was in Ho Hin,owner of caddyshack was also running Joy guest house and the shack was pretty empty but that was 2005

Bulls Eye certainly wasn't open in 2000. At the end of 2000 Willos was still a private house. I think Bulls Eye came along in 2002.

When i first came to Hua Hin in December 2002 I regularly frequented a bar on the corner of Selekam and Poolsuk, opposite what was then The Ship (Mags and Billy's old place) - that was called Suzy Bar and was owned/run at the time by a French guy and his Thai wife (can't remember the names) - it closed around early 2004 I think, and was converted back into a house, and then converted again into an office around 2006, which it still is I think. I didn't remember another Suzy bar in 2002, so maybe they relocated from opposite Willo's or just had the same name?
Incidentally, the pool table in London Bar when it opened came from the old Suzy Bar I used to frequent.
