Sea and Horses

Post by TALAY TODAY »

I was down your way the other day and had a thoroughly pleasant stay only snag was the Thai girlfriend refused to swim as the sea was so dirty - she also wasn't impressed by the khii maa on the beach.
I last visited a couple of years ago and certainly don't recall any problem the only khii maa I came across was from a septic in a bar down Bintabaht Way.

Yeah, the riders are supposed to clean up afterwards. I walk the beach regularly and this does happen close to the big hotels. It certainly dosn't in more secluded areas. The situation will only get worse through the high season.
It's a shame.

I agree with what you have both said, I was there in June, there was hardley anyone on the beach, but when you walk down the beach noth ways, there were bags of crap all the way down the beach.
Perhaps if you tell the Thai's that they can make money by selling it to people to put on their gardens to help their plants grow, you may at some time see a clean beach.

Excellent suggestion chelsea :D It might be a good idea if someone who can write Thai made up a few signs to post every 500 meters or so up and down the beach expousing this potential baht generating scheme. I'll help put them in place when I get there if need be. :thumb:
