cashing cheques

Post by yabz »

What is the best way to cash a cheque in Hua Hin? In particular payments from Google adwords. I was told by Bangkok Bank that I had to have a business a/c to cash a cheque....

I take it you are talking about cheques issued by an overseas bank, ie: not a Thai bank ?
IF you have a business account it will be in your Limited Companies name, then the cheques would, I presume??, would need to be payable to that company name.

I receive a UK government cheque monthly and pay it into my savings account. It takes 45 to 60 days to clear and the Kasikorn Bank benefits.

You can get Google to issue local currency checks, in which case they take about 3-4 working days to clear. If they are foreign currency checks you'll be faced with the above situation.
