Klai Kangwan

Post by Cowtown Comedy »

If you haven't been to King's Klai Kangwan Palace yet, I highly recommend it. They have several walking paths around a beautiful lake, and the trees and flowers are stunning. Some people are there for jogging, but many are just strolling around the lake enjoying the scenery. The security guards are very friendly enjoy practicing their English. Remember your Thai driving license or passport.

I thought that was just a park area. Sure you can see the palace?

mrco..i think its soi 37 where the traffic lights are...turning east off phetkasem, and parking any where along this soi. The entrance to the palace is about 1/2 way down this soi, on the right side. 1 lap around the lake is 900 m. good luck!Image

I went to the old wooden palace once (can't think or even pronounce its name) Its really eye catching and wooden. Its out of town going towards cha-am on the beach side tucked away in some sort of army base.
Its made of wood don't you know...

:agree:
We thoroughly enjoyed walking through history. Men had to wear long trousers and women had to wear a long dress - they were available for hire if you forgot.

It used to be opened for just a couple of hours in the afternoon, I think four until six but that might have changed.

Steve,
I'm going tomorrow so I'll find out about the opening hours. I recall early morning for a couple hours and then in the late afternoon for 2 or 3 hours.
