Likewise. Although butter, eaten as 'Ghee', is very healthy and nourishing. I make my own and it keeps for months.
IMO the best oil out there is virgin coconut oil. It will withstand high temperatures, keeps well and was used for centuries before modern marketing and industrialization led to its decline. I use it on cuts, insect bites, for earache. It's a fantastic oil.
Most vegetable oils and all hydrogenated oils are a no-no in my house. I use 3 oils.
1. Cold-pressed Virgin Coconut Oil. Good for cooking and medicine!
2. Cold pressed Extra Virgin olive oil, the darker colour the better. Don't cook using high temperatures.
3. Cold-pressed Oryzanol Rice Bran Oil. Ok for cooking.
A tablespoon a day of any of these is highly beneficial. Yes, they are more expensive but not as much as future medical bills.
