Randy you dont know what you are missing. I must admit I used to be like you, but after 27 years of living in Australia you get to like them. I used to be the same with Mussels but now love them.

If you do not like them natural, try what they call Oysters Kilpatrick.
That is where they are topped with chopped cooked bacon and a dash of Worcester Sauce They taste great, I am sure you would like them.

I can remember sitting at an oyster bar in New Orleans back in the 80's with a friend (a Brit from Colchester) and we each downed 3 dozen, along with several beers. I think they were called "blue point" but can't be sure. Delicious!

Cherry stone clams are also great and mainly an east coast USA delicacy, but sadly in decline and perhaps by now extinct? Pete

PS: Oyster stuffing in a Thanksgiving turkey is another very popular dish. :D

Back in Tennessee that would have had to be "mountain oysters".

Bill, I'll see if I can find time to get down there and take you up on your beer offer while you still have the eels. Don't know if I can eat one or not (probably depends on what they look and smell like) but I'm up for a culinary adventure.

Good man.

In all honesty Jelled Eels have hardly any smell but once you've put the salt, vinegar and pepper on them they are very tasty and they look great.
