i would just like to say many thanks to Terry and his team who did such a wonderful job of ensuring everyone had a great time at our recent Works Xmas do.

plenty of good food for everyone,cold beer, and even a few fish chucked in as well.

This customer was with us yesterday.

Caught and lost plenty all day, but finally got what he came for - one of our Redtail kindly obliging!

And 'Arry the Arapaima still has evaded everyone so far.

Coming soon - Baramundi and Freshwater Stingray - watch this space!

Those are big fishes. Are they under steroid food ? Never see that big fishes in Thailand!

They have them WAY bigger at HHL .And don't forget you are looking at small specimens ! Arry can make over 200kg .

As C88 says, these are still babes.

We have Giant Mekongs reaching around 60 kg here - hard to catch but possible. They CAN reach 100+ easily.

The redtails can reach 100 kg and the Alligator Gar 80+.

Our policy is to stock small and mature them here. For example we have 5 young arapaima that we are fattening up each with the potential of 200+ as C88 says.
We now have decent sized (approx 8 - 15kg) to catch EVERY day in different varieties. Big enough for most folk and of course getting bigger all of the time.

Yep it's catch & release although we allow custmers to take up to 2kg of Nin, TabTim, Duk or Pacu.

Some of our specimens are on endangered lists and are not found everywhere.

We will be stocking more and more in the future.

Hi
Isn`t there a risk with so many species that some of the predator fishes
will eat up some of the others?
When some of the fishes seems to be quit expensive to buy.

Very true - but the main source of food in the ponds are the baby Pla Nin that are there in their thousands - Plus freshwater shrimp, prawn, crustacians etc.

It's nature's way of providing a fresh food source. The Nin (Nile Tilapia) are mouth brooders and as such they breed rapidly.

My stocking of the predatory fish takes this into account.

The expected result is that I have a good selection of fish, some predatory and some expensive (or both) that are fed constantly by the Nin

This way we keep the Nin under control and provide plenty of variety and interest to our customers.

It's working so far, but requires constant vigilance and observation.

The incidence of predation is quite low as long as the stock of Nin remains sustainable - which should be no problem.
