Another thought

Any fellow skydivers reading? If so I'd go tandem again with one of you guys and funds raised would be donated to Chris (Guess) this time. Last time I did it it was for the Tsunami and I raised nearly 200K Baht

If I remember rightly the dive is in March but the funds could be rustled up well before then :D

I have every sympathy with Chris and hope that he gets better soon.
I will be doing a photographic quiz at the headrock dogs charity night.
All you will have to do is identify what the picture is. A test of memory.
Entry will be 100 bht per person for the quiz, no team entries, as individual skills will be needed. All the proceeds from this will go to help Chris. With Dawn giving 10% of the entry fee we hope to raise a good amount.
Donations if you cannot get there, JD has a box in his shop and Dawn or me will accept any donations for Chris as well.
Woke up this morning breathing that's a good start to the day.

We are putting the basics of a fundraiser together.

BAR CRAWL

Entrance fee 200 Baht per crawler.

Participating Bars fee 1,000 Baht.

Date to be arranged, this will take place around the main town centre area.

Posters/flyers for this event will appear next week.

All participants will receive a map of the bars involved, I'm sure 50+ crawlers going round the town will entice enough bar owners to get involved.

It will be a blast of a night and only participating bars will be on the map and visited by the crawlers. This event will take place mid January on a Friday or Saturday night, we already have 20+ entrants - the more the merrier.

Another great idea. Reading between the lines of many postings here on HHAD, many posters are keen to meet up with other members. Well Guys (and Girls) here's your chance to put a few faces to names, have a great time and most importantly helping an expat in need. I wish I could join in.

I know Chris enjoys a good joke and a wind up like the rest of us, but I think he has supported/helped many of us with his vast knowledge on just about anything in the past on this forum. What an easy way this will be to give something back.

Its also commendable to see Dawn making a contribution from her own good cause, together with Lindosfan's photographic quiz. Great work Guys.

Richard, I'm sure your tandem jump idea is great, but just the thought makes me feel queezy :D Just post the phoographs afterwards

Ha Ha BB

Didn't you know I'm a nutter?

They do have limitations though. Age no prob, Health no prob if you have a strong heart, Weight a prob. Fortunately I'm a skinny runt (spelt with an R)

Chris needs all the support he can get and the expats who know him will succeed in helping out

Don't forget the donation box in the shop. Hua Hin Ham Bacon & Meat Company, Soi 41, Hua Hin.

Already getting many generous donations.

Even the Bangkok Thais, in town for the Holiday Weekend, are making donations.

Thanks to everyone.

Your kind thoughts are appreciated.

I left for the UK on 10th December, and was in contact with Chris just prior to that when he had just entered the hospital, when it appeared that he would be released about a week later - I was kept informed by other friends while I was away and was horrified to hear what he was going through, and I only got back last night. I have known Chris since he took over the running of Sugar Cane and got involved in the pool leagues, and spent way too many hours in there discussing the finer points of pool or football or some other subject, until he moved away - I should think many on here would know that he was instrumental in expanding and organising the pool competitions in the area, so along with the other suggestions I would think some sort of pool night would be an appropriate way of raising funds either in conjunction with or separately from the other possible schemes. Either way, it is absolutely the right thing to do, and to help someone who selflessly devoted time and money to try and make pool a continuing fixture on the local scene.

Great work guys.

I'm currently in Bangsaphan and Chumphon, have been to see Chris last week, he is improving in condition slowly but the bills are mounting up so all donations no matter how big or small are greatly appreciated. Some of the local businesses here in Bangsaphan are also rallying round with notices and donation boxes. I'd like to send out a particular thanks to Clive at 112 Cocktail Bar for his efforts here in BS.

Perhaps consider a walkathon as well. Short notice but this weekend may be a good time for many to purge the booze from their systems. How far is it from downtown to Terry's fishing hole? Perhaps a good target and a good place to relax once you get there. Pete

Get well soon Chris, and I'll be happy to participate in any fund raising efforts over the next couple of weeks. If it involves playing pool I'll even promise to play myself for a change, in which case you are guaranteed to make some money!

I´m sure the darters would be happy to have a competition night as well, even though Chris doesn´t play. JW, can you talk to Barry to organize a darts competition night (maybe on the lines of top 16 where the first round is played in different venues) for individuals as well?

Good to hear that Chris has had some visitors. Can I just mention that for folks without transport, its very easy (and cheap) to get to Chumpon by train. I'm sure he would appreciate the visits.
