Next few months are going be interesting/annoying/humilitating/curtailing etc. Oh! The days of going out 'on the beers' every night seem a distant fairy tales that are slowly drifting into myth.

:(
Well, I don't for a moment profess to understand all this economic stuff at all. Have a look at this article from The Guardian. Another reduction in interest rates and they're saying that the GBP has strengthened? Ho hum:

I don't understand it either, but the Pound has risen 2 Baht in 2 days.

How can last month's reason for a weakening Pound be this month's reason for a stronger Pound? :?

i've always used xe.com currency converter & they have always been pretty accurate in my experience.
they currently have the pound at 53.068 bht.
whether you will get that at an exchange bureau is another matter, but at bank transfers etc, it shouldn't be far out.

That didn't last long. Now down to

1.00 GBP = 50.8034 THB

It's a bumpy ride for holders of sterling!

Well the promising trend of last week certainly didn't last long, I think it's more about the weakness of the UK economy than the strengh of the baht, oh well back to plan b - if only there was one.

First trip to thailand for my mates Thai wedding 72bht. last trip in oct. 54bht and falling. I had to change hotel to stay afloat.

Flights are getting a little less expensive but the majority of my spend is on accomidation, drink, food and perhaps nocturnal activities.

I hoped to retun to HH in may, now this looks very very ambitious.
