Agree RZR, those of us who know Guess may wish to help him out, it's our choice.
I couldn't care less whether he has/should of had insurance, has a truck or whatever, he's a decent honest bloke who many want to assist in whichever way we can.
Those who don't do not have to.

Hokum, you made the same point earlier in this thread, no need to repeat your uncharitable response again.

You state you do not know Chris, but I suspect your a bit of a Knowall. I've known Chris for five years but I couldn't tell you if he rides a pushbike, drives a Ferrari or has few bars of gold hidden under his mattress.

I do know he needs help, and those that also know him are trying to help him.

I suspect you are just jealous because he has so many friends and your just a bit of a Virgin on the friend front.

You have stated he should sell his car motorbike and his wife her gold.
I will not go into details you are wrong.
I suggest you P*** off and let the ones that want to help get on with it. :banghead:
:guns: I have stated the facts, the people here that know him personally will also know this.
If you would like to discuss this man to man then lets meet at Black Mountain Golf for a round, if this is too expensive for you then come and join Butterfly Rock or Hua Hin Golf Society, this will get you 30% off the green fee's.
If this is still out of your league then I will meet you at a market for a plate of chicked fried rice (30 baht) and a Chang (45 baht). If you want to hide behind your key board like the majority, then I will quote you, go  p**** off.

I won't edit this post, as it's an obvious threat.

Hide behind a keyboard you say, well tell us all who you are, what business you have in Hua Hin, I'm sure we would like to know. The vast majority of people in Hua Hin are helping out with this problem Chris has. Most can only do so with good wishes, all are very welcome.

Please do tell us who you and your business are. It would allow us all to offer you the same good grace you have proffered to Chris.

Well, that seems to have been an excellent start. I know Dawn and Lindosfan are doing their bit with a lot of help from Bill this weekend, but what's the next event organised solely for Chris? Is it the sponsored Pub Crawl, or is there something else organised first.

Keep up the great work guys. Its really good to see people rallying around to help a fellow expat in need.
Championship Plymouth Argyle 1 - 2 Leeds Utd

Points 46; Position 23 RELEGATED

why has he no insurance
Local paper has reported that its a long running 'pre-existing' condition that the insurance companies would not cover.

So it will be a big help that many of his friends got together and did the following:
Hi guys, I would like to thank everyone for their support on Thursday night for the charity pool night for Chris (guess), it was a great night and big thanks to all who donated the prizes for the draw Super Joe, Dave from Ham and Bacon company, Peter Dunne, Liam from Jimmys, Cheeky Monkey Bar and Panna Hill, plus all the various bars that put in prizes.
Also thank you to all that played in the pool competition, I was the last falang in finishing 3rd, a Thai guy from Moonlight Bar won.
We managed to collect 29,075 Baht +5,000 Baht that was donated by an attendee on the night that was already deposited in the bank. So that makes a total of 34,075 Baht raised for Chris.
THANK YOU TO ALL WHO HELPED, George and the Red Bar staff
Note: I've translated it from Geordie into English.

I can't belive that someone could be so uncharitable, a 9 post wonder just shit stiring :troll: you need a large dose of troll medicine.
If you are 6000 miles away from home and you fall ill, i would image that you would feel very vunrable and lonely in a Thai substandard hospital, i think it's lovely that he can feel that friends care about him enough to want too help him in such a great community spirited way.
Things like this make me feel that i really want too be part of the HHAD community, there are a lot of really nice people out there, but every now and then a social outcast, like you pops up, someone that does not really like himself on the inside, and has trouble with social interaction and making friends, so to get some means of attention you try and go on a wind up mission, your just a very sad individual, a monkey..... why dont you go up to monkey mountain and be with the other monkeys and then you won't be so lonely.

SJ well done mate a really good effort and community spirit.

Cheers Kendo, although George, Norseman and others deserve the credit.
The troll is well known in town with a grudge, has no mates blah blah blah, let's not waste anymore words on him.

There's some decent people in town for sure, and good luck to the event tomorrow night at Buff Bills.

Exactly kendo!!
Chris have a lot of friends in Hua Hin and in Bang Saphan where he now live.
The expat community on both places have shown that it is possible to get together and try to DO and organize a bit of aid in order to get him back on his feet again.

One of the tools we have used to reach out to all of you kind-hearted people is of course our own forum HUA HIN AFTER DARK.

A BIG THANK YOU goes to Lev who kindly gave us permission to use the board as a platform for information.
Without the help from HHAD and Bang Saphan Guide the life here would be a lot more complicated and not so enjoyable.
I intend to live forever - so far so good.

It was a great night as well and I actually managed to win one game against one of those Thai guys, and if anyone has ever seen me play pool before they will be more shocked by that than I was!

I have only known Chris for a short time but he is one of the most helpful people I have come across. He therefore deserves all the help he can get.
Chris has had a history of ulcers on his legs and anyone with half a pea for a brain know insurance is not possible for pre-existing conditions.
I believe he contracted his medical problems because of an infection he caught whilst visiting a friend in hospital.
Because of his medical problems he has not been able to fly for some 3 years now. In his present condition no airline would take him, so repatriation is out of the question.
As for selling this that and the other. Chris needs help now not in months time. If he in fact owns what has been suggested, I was under the impression he was renting his property like many expats.
As for his wife dripping in gold when we had lunch some time ago she certainly was not wearing any.
HHAD keep up the good work we are doing what we can in Bang saphan.

I should mention that Chris has contacted people involved in recent events to express his deep and sincere appreciation to those who have rallied round to assist and support him when he needs it most.
He, and his wife, are greatly appreciative to all involved even if he has not been able to contact you all directly. That's what mates are for eh.
