Red hot chilli peppers
Here you go, Randy. I posted these links on another thread recently.
The first is really a food additive:
http://www.primidi.com/2005/05/09.html
And here is the Dorset naga, some three times hotter than the scotch bonnet and 60% hotter than a habanero
http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/news/u ... 700700.ece
Ouch to both of them.
BTW, the Thai birds eye chili gets between 50-100.000 on the Scoville scale.

Now that is a chilli!Aktar Miha, from the Indus Bangladeshi restaurant in Bournemouth, said that even in its home country the naga chilli was treated with respect. “It is used in some cooking, mainly with fish curries, but most people don’t cook with it. They hold it by the stalk and just touch their food with it,” he said.

Hi baron_wastelandukbaron_wastelanduk wrote:not wishing to be a chilli anorak but the hottest rated chilli at this moment is the dorset naga a hybrid version of an indian chilli which rates at a million schu - ooooh hot

The Dorset Naga is off the scale, my Thai wife tried them last year as we live near the producer (I think they got original seeds from India and improved on the heat content) and she rekons they are BL**DY PET.

red hot chillies
khundon
they were selling them in Tescos here in suffolk - I bought two bags for trying 1st bag was opened in the pub and I ate one without any affect.
Tried another and it was reasonably hot - fruity kind of taste too third one really went - still didnt make me hiccup though which is normally my acid test for heat - observed that all the chillies in the bag were slighlty different in I guess maturity which i can only assume accounts for the difference in heat levels.
i did select one for a mate which using my theory about the differences turned out to be a vert hot one - he reckoned i was trying to kill him!
there is another chilli which kicks ass called the bhuta jolokia which is possibly where the naga comes from try this link for a nutter eating one

Hi I can't attest to how hot they are as I never eat any type of chilli.
But her indoors enjoyed them.

Took me ages to dig this up, but Pete (prcscct) is getting close to 5000 posts Buksi, what's the rank name for 5000 Buksi as he's going to get there first? Big boy was closer until you made him a mod but let us into the secret or are you just going to tease us until Pete gets there.buksida wrote:Yeah as mentioned in the mods meeting notes post there are a couple of new ranks - you get the red hot orange chili when you've reached 3,000 posts, there is another one at 5,000.

I think you should wait with baited breath - I think it's quite a clever and appropriate rank name. You need to encourage Pete to post a bit more frequently to put you out of your misery.spitfire wrote:Took me ages to dig this up, but Pete (prcscct) is getting close to 5000 posts Buksi, what's the rank name for 5000 Buksi as he's going to get there first? Just think back to the anticipation on Christmas Eve all of those years ago - it just wouldn't have been the same if you had known.
