Is Super Joe refering to the 'present-one' as being poor Donald, that got warned, then suffered an attempt to permantly hush him up?
(Read front page of 2days BKK post).
To me this case smacks of nearly the same ingredients as poor Toby
went through a coupla years back.

I think that Thais mis-use the word 'gangster' the same as they do 'mafia'.

Yes, no doubt, there are some dubious characters in Hua Hin, but they're mostly what I'd call 'wide-boys' and 'chancers'. When I hear the word gangster I think of seriously well-organised gangs, like the Kray Twins, and the real mafia is considerably more dangerous. I guess the equivalent in Hua Hin are high-ranking policemen and the poo yai baans.

As long as you don't upset either of the above, you're pretty safe.

It's a bit like a time capsule that's been unearthed dig and you can find it, or know and you can avoid a fool, mafia my arse, this is a little criptic but it's ment to touch a nerve of a coward.

Has HuaHin become a gangsters place for expats?

Post by margaretcarnes »

Agreed HH has always had it's share of 'wideboys' - probably no more or less than many other towns in LOS, with the exception of Pattaya which is known for it's Russian element. Isolated incidents, such as the present sad case of Don, and Toby's tragic death, (along with earlier 'accidents') have happened for specific business/personal reasons. That doesn't make them right by any means. Neither does it point to widespread 'gangster' activity.
Most 'wideboys' have been pretty low down on the crime scale, and have often left town.
But quite why the BP article cites 'Together' cafe as an example is strange. Unless the place has changed radically in 2 months that is. I went on my own and found the prices reasonable, staff charming, and service excellent.

Judging from a few events which have taken place here in Bo Fai, I would say the only gangsters there are, are security guards.....lol. It seems they pose a greater danger to society the common criminals.

Is Hua Hin a gangster town?....................I'm afraid that questions is simply too ridiculous to even ponder

It is interesting to note that the instigator of the shooting is a farang. So would HH be a safer place without the farangs?

No need to link elsewhere, the news was broke on HHAD yesterday and comments on this issue are already going on here:

hmmmm

now lets see what we have here

one post that, in much the same way as the old Ripper notes, uses odd misspelling of words to look like someone who isnt a native English writer, but shows an strange ability to spell unusual words like mafia and estate, posted by.....someone with one post

then a cheerleader post beneath it by another novice who has been ranting on a similar vein in a separate but similarly themed thread......
