Ranong Visa Road - Directions to Sangpla Pier

Post by Rider »

How to get to Sangpla Pier from the main Highway.

Hope it helps for first-timers and folk travelling to Ranong who are a bit sketchy :)

So I've got to paint a mental picture-map in your head with this garble eh?...
...assuming you're comin into Ranong from Chumpon-end,you go over a bit of a rise once the road becomes a dual-carr/wy, go straight thru' the 1st set of traffic lights, and then you need to be turning right at the next set.
As soon as you've turned off the main road, then turn left.
After 50yds or so take the 1st right you come to).
Follow this for a mile or so and it brings you to another set of T.lights.
Turn left here onto another dual carr/wy (with potholes so beware),then follow this for a good way (maybe up to 3/4 mile) till you see the fishing port area ahead of you.
At this time you will see a PTT garage on the right, pull into there and hunt for a space to park.
The pier is behind the forecourt and the food stalls, and thru an archway in front of you. The Immigration office is on the back-side of this archway/walkthru on your right.
This should get you there, and if you linger a while if you are on your
own, then pair-up with other solo farang to halve the cost of the boat
(dont pay more than 300 total for the boat trip...150 each for 2).
