You forgot trifle. . .which always seemed a rather lowly name for my favorite part of any meal!

Thanks for the enlightenment Sarge,

You don't want to know what dinkleberries are! They have nothing (well, almost nothing) to do with food!

Not to my knowledge; I usually can't take the thought of eating such innards. Even when I order larb here, I have the wife explain to them that I only want the meat, not the ground up organs they usually put into Issan style larb.

Have you ever tried mountain oysters!

They are the male dangly bits (usually from bison, boar, or bull) and are eaten in parts of rural America.

I'm surprised by your sweetbreads definition though as I googled it and the two sites I looked at said it was the thymus glands of lamb, beef, or pork.

I did sleep a lot in Biology class but I thought the Thymus was somewhere in or near the neck... :?

Maybe I need to use google.co.uk... :D

Although not commonly from pork, sweetbread is taken from young lamb and calves.

I would not want to put the testes of any animal, cooked or otherwise, in my mouth, thank you very much.

However Sargent if you would like some Pork Balls, I'll gladly oblige. I believe you only need to fry them in the crispy batter you talk about making and serve with a sweet and sour sauce and egg fried rice.

Maybe it's a regional thing, not the same name/definition nationwide... :D

Actualy thinking about it it probably is an age thing in the old days as JD says the young calfs and young male sheep were castrated and it was done with a knife these days they use a very tight elastic band and they are then left to just drop of
I think that men will probably have more of an aversion to sweetbreads than women it seems far to close to a modern divorce for comfort :lach: :lach:
