Hhfarang - was that you I met in the fish n' chip shop having breakfast this morning?
No, wasn't me, but you're likely to see me there for lunch once in a while when my taste buds demand heavenly fish and chips!

I prefer the cod myself

Can someone who knows Richard (the owner of the Fish and Chips place) please find out what is going on and report back here.

I went yesterday with a friend for lunch and the place was shut again. There are posts on here as recently as about a week ago that he was not only open for lunch, but breakfast also, but it seems that was short lived.

I hope that Richard does not have another health problem that caused him to have to close again.

Anybody know what's up? :?

The place is supposed to be open 3 PM - 9 Pm.
I was there first time at 4 PM and the place was closed.
Second time I was there on Monday. They are closed on Mondays.
Third time I was there on Tuesday 7 PM, the place was closed.

I have been staying at Tira Tiraa opposite this restaurant and have monitored its activities (it is actually the only reasonable restaurant close to this project so we been there a few times)...its opening ours are very strange and at least during the past 10 days not reliable as they sometimes are open for breafast, sometimes lunch, and sometimes only in the evening.

I hope that it is only temporarily as I do love its food and staff...

I been a few times and never been disappointed

Perhaps it's best to ring first

I've been told by some and indeed talked to the new chef and he used to work at the Chiva Som. Maybe he still is on a part time basis?. Is so the Chida Som workload may have been higher this last weekend due to the Asean summit

The Original Fish n' Chip shop is up for sale to the highest bidder. The Chef from Chiva Som has moved on and Richard has given up trying to find people to run it and is therefore open to any reasonable offer. Anyone want to own a Fish n' Chop restaurant? PM me or contact Richard.

If the owner wants to be professional about advertising his business or the sale of it he can contact HHAD for a property listing, no more free plugs please.

Some are saying that the fish and chip shop is never open, you must understand only a hand full of people are going there to order throughout the day. Fish and chips is mostly an English dish, how many Europeans and Thai people eat fish and chips? D’you think it is worth them staying open for that amount of custom?
Alternatively The Buffalo Tavern is open from 8.30am for breakfast until 11pm daily. We have Draft Stowford press Cider along with Kronenbourg and as from this coming Friday we have draft Tetley Bitter and very good fish and chips. All 150Baht a pint.
