I noticed that United Nations International Driving permits are being sold in Hua Hin. They are fakes. There is no such thing. International Driving Licences can only be issued by the Transport Dept. in Bangkok. And in other counties they are issued either by the same government department or a certified Automobile Association. They are only valid for one year and cannot be used in thier country of issue.
These fake driving licenses look very convincing. They are printed in Thailand and sold by various "farangs" who make nearly 100% profit. These licences may fool a Thai policeman who stops you. But if you have an accident the insurance company could consider you as driving without a licence and not accept your claim
