Well I remember sneaking into the monkey enclosure at Hong Kong zoo and having all my hair pulled out and my ear bitten the day I ran away from home .Followed by stowing away on a junk across the harbour and getting caught stealing some food before a very rich Chinese lady drove me home in a fancy car .Also recalll the screams of the teachers when i produced a banded krait for the school nature table .I was 5 .Mother assures me it was all downhill from there .

So - you're still in it then!
Of course a good way to avoid Mozzies is to keep fish!
Fish tend to eat the little buggers when they are lavae.
Quite seriously we get very few mosquitos at the lodge - the only 'bad' areas are at the bottom corners of both ponds where the vegetation is close by and it's darker.
It has been proven that wearing light clothing, and being in well lit areas reduces the chances of mosquito bites drastically.
Hanging around with pale skinned holiday makers works a treat as well .The little critters go straight for them .I find English,Irish and Scandinavian women work best .Be careful not to stand downwind of them as you will inhale the noxious skeetoleen that they constantly spray on themselves in a vain attempt to avoid getting bitten which will spoil the taste of your beer .The only commercial repellant I have known to be effective is myggemilch which I have certainly spelt incorrectly .Ask someone from Holland or Denmark .
