Got a parking ticket near Chatchai Mkt. and was wondering if I should pay now at the police station or will they get me when my next car reg. is due?
Tried to find answers on previous posts, but couldn't find any info.
Thanks Sally

My wife recently went to pay her 'road tax' for her scooter. She couldn't get it done because there was an outstanding fine that hadn't been paid.
When she went to the police station to find out more, it appears that she had to pay 400 baht for driving without a licence. She has had one for donkeys years and she is the only driver of the scooter.
She ended up paying it to avoid arguing with the police all day.

On the subject of Parking fines...my tax was refused cos I had an outstanding fine up in Loei (or however you spell it) What is intresting is that when the fine was administered I was not even in Thailand, the car was on my driveway and the keys with me in Europe!!
For once (tho it did'nt do any good) the desk sarge at HH police station was real helpfull and she rang Loei to try sort it.
Turns out the officer who dished-out the ticket had my car down as a black Chevvy...Wrong! and a Thai name so long and un-pronouncable...wrong!
How can this be when the tax office has your blue-book details?
Needless to say the desk-sarge told me cos its in the system I have to pay,and if I contest it I may get problems next taxation-time.
Am I a one-off on this matter or is it happening to Farang all the time???
