English League 1 Promotion

Post by Khao Tao Lions »

Well, we have premiership and championship threads. Does anybody look this far down the English league?? The third tier of English football.

There are at least two of us who support teams in league 1 - the other being a Leeds United fan.

My bets for promotion are Scunthorpe and Leicester automatically and Millwall, MK Dons, Carlisle and Leeds in the play offs. I have to go for Millwall for the third promotion place from the play offs.

Is this going to be HHAD shortest ever thread??

i look that far down, not sure we could be in it next season.!! like to see Leeds come up and Leicester are not a league 1 team.
no offence but hope you don't and then we don't have to play you. !!

As I spent two summers in Brighton iin the mid 70´s, I always follow how they do and wish them all my best. That will be the case this season as well.

Not sure whether Brighton have a big enough squad to challenge. However, their Carling Cup win over Manchester City last night may spur them on to a winning run in the league

I don´t think they´ll get promoted this season. The main thing for me is that they will finish above the Cobblers as I have an annual bet on this with a Northampton fan. Great victory last night, though.

I see that you've managed to capture a decent striker KTL. You should be able to make it permanent when the window opens again.

Jermaine Easter is a class act.
Championship Plymouth Argyle 1 - 2 Leeds Utd

Points 46; Position 23 RELEGATED

Yes Jermaine Easter should sign on loan today together with Gifton Noel Williams. With Neil Harris out injured and our other loanee (Tresor Kandol) from Leeds suspended we need a strike force to keep us up there with the early frontrunners

The scorer list in tonight´s Brighton vs Cheltenham game was looking very good until the 90+4 minutes goal.

Brighton-Cheltenham 3-3

Brighton
Murray 1
Murray 7
Murray 47

Cheltenham
Murray 2
Murray 45+2

Then came this:

Cheltenham

the match ends 3-3

Promotion From League 1

Post by Khao Tao Lions »

It's been a few months since my last posting on this subject and with just 10 games or so to go probably an ideal time to continue with the predictions:-
Leicester are basically up and their 1-0 win of Millwall on Saturday flattered Millwall.
MK Dons will pip Peterborough for automatic promotion with my team joining Peterborough in the play offs. The other two places? Leeds are a good bet if they can continue their home form. Their away form however, would make them relegation candidates. The final place may be a battle between three teams - Oldham, Scunthorpe and Tranmere, although Bristol Rovers are on great form and have games in hand.
Who'll go up via the play offs. I would like to think Millwall.
Anyone else got a prediction?

MK Dons lost last night at home to Millwall which has given Peterborough the edge for the second automatic promotion spot.....great win for Millwall.
So the play offs could well be MK Dons,Millwall,Leeds and Scunthorpe.
Oldham sacked their manager at the weekend and Tranmere lost to Cheltenham last night after previously beating Leicester.
Cant see either Oldham or Tranmere making the play offs really.

Mk Dons 0 Millwall 1

Yes Zidane it was a great result for the Lions.

Although I agree that Peterborough do have the edge, Millwall have a game in hand. If they win it they are only two points behind and Peterborough still have to come to the Den in a few weeks. An exciting run in for second place between Peterborough, Millwall and MK Dons
