Forgive me if this has been asked elsewhere on the forums but if it has, then I can't seem to find it.
1) Does anyone know if they sell ready mixed cement around here? I'm just needing a little so I don't fancy buying a truck load of sand, etc.
2) Are stun guns legal in Thailand? The reason I ask is because I've seen police buying them on more than one occasion at the market.

We got stun torches in night market in Hua Hin.
They look and work just like a torch but when you remove end cover (takes 1 second) and press button all hell is let loose across the 2 prongs at the end.
Can be recharged from home socket, so no batteries required.
Small, compact and will ruin any bast***s day.
Wife's Dad has one, he is BIB.
Ps. Don't try to import them to another country as they are illegal in many countries.

whilst Im a big advocate of home defence I would point out a few things about home market tazers/shock sticks
1) The majority here are cheapo Chinese made knock offs.
2) Cheapo knockoffs are unreliable. sometimes they work, sometimes they deliver the same shock as a mozzie racket.
A "big fat spark" or all hell breaking loose means sod all......Nikolai Tesla used to work beneath massive Tesla coils and Van De Graf generators arcing electricity across the room.....sparks are fireworks to amuse the dimwits in the MIB.
3) They are NOT non lethal...... bear that in mind. The shock can stop a heart, or the fall can crack a skull. Kill an intruder and the Thai authorities will prosecute you for manslaughter.....it has happened.
4) If it doesnt work you had better hope your assailant doesnt disarm you and turn it on you.... one or two good cracks with a 6 cell maglite style one and its goodnight Vienna for good.
5) If you miss you are virtually next to your target. This is not the time to find you know nothing about grappling and pinning targets down.
The best deterrent once a burglar is inside is to get one of those pager/screecher style personal rape alarms and set it off..... one went off by accident in our office once and cleared the place in 30 seconds flat...the noise was so painful it was impossible to go near the thing. Nobody in the soi will be sleeping any more. Make noise, attract attention.......burglars will always run.
A can of mace is better than a shock stick as at least you dont have to be in contact with or near the target. Maintaining a safe attack distance is the key to self defense, not what pretty toy you are waving.
Gadgets breed overconfidence....and overconfidence will get you injured or killed.
My personal recc for home defense is a medium to large sized "som tam stick" mortar....looks like an old police truncheon and works just as well.

Well now that I know the stun guns are legal, I'll be keeping my eyes open for one of the expandablestun batons although I've not seen any here yet? I have a feeling that one of them would work wonders in making my bike less appealing to our four legged friends

He's backed up by 5 dogs, security cameras (recording), sensor activated lighting and an alarm that you can hear in Chumpon

A can of super-duper mosquito spray would surely do the trick. I've, fortunately, not had the opportunity to spray it directly into someone's face, but when I go into my bedroom just after giving it a spray it's pretty overpowering.
Available everywhere, and if you get in a spot of bother with the MIB you can just explain you were trying to save the intruder from malaria...
