Motorbike and train

Post by Francois »

I would like to know if it is possible to travel by train and put my motorbike in the same train.

Any information will be appreciated.

Thanks in advance,
François

Hi Francois

There used to be a service offered by the Post Office where they would post your bike by mail train for a small fee....so maybe there are baggage cars on normal services that would offer the same.

Ask at the station.

Hi guys,

Thanks for the answers.

Sending the motorbike by post looks to be interesting.

But what I'd like to do is to go to the 3 Pagoda pass with my motorbike, starting from Hua Hin. I'd like to avoid driving between HH and Petchaburi. I don't feel very comfortable on the highway 4.:)

On the other hand, I wanted to take the train between K'buri and the Erawan National Park. By putting the motorbike on the train, I will not have to leave it in K'buri and have to go back to pick it up.

Fran

you should go ask at the station whether there are normal "non post office mail train" trains with a baggage car.....I expect the long distance ones will have, as have you ever seen a Thai go long distance without 5 tons of rice, bananas, shellfish, the kitchen sink etc ;-)

Try at the station would be my start point, then if you get no joy there ask at the post office about their bike delivery service.

A mate had one dropped from Chang Mai to here....took a week but was in perfect condition when it arrived outside his house.

bear in mind as well Songkran is at the end of the week, so the trains will be full of people going back and forward to their homes.

That's true :)

This will be my 1st step. I'll ask the station.

I'll miss this. I'm still in France up to April 28.
