The only players he's not signed in our squad are Gerrard, Carragher and Hyppia.
He's had to overhaul the complete crap that Houllier left him with.

As expected? Powder puff?

I'd say we are 2 equally matched teams, we failed to turn up and you played very, very well, and bar a miracle, your through.

Bad day at the office for Liverpool, I hope it doesn't drag on into the League.

Nice flags at Anfield tonight by the way, did the Chelsea internet campaign for authentic support not gather pace then?

If it wasn't for the credit crunch, Uncle Roman might have bought you a flag each like he did last time.

If I was disappointed by Uniteds result on Tuesday I was shocked by Liverpools yesterday.
So much for a Liverpool v United final....more likely a repeat of Barcelona v Arsenal but if Chelsea play like they did last night it should be two cracking games against Barcelona.....assuming Liverpool dont pull it back of course !

Great performance by Chelsea, could have been at least 5 had Drogba not missed two easy chances before we had scored.

I do not think it a coincidence that Chelsea's midfield is functioning again since Essien has returned. Is a very underrated , but important part of that midfield partnership.

When Guus was manager here in Australia, his ideas on the midfield was that if you lost the ball, it was your job to get it back as soon as possible. Earlier in the season there was no fight in that midfield. It is certainly back with a vengance and back to its best.

Why Schilari could not get them to perform like that, I have no idea, but Hiddink seems to be pressing all the right buttons with the midfield and also with Drogba & Anelka.
It was about 4.00am in the morning here and when Anelka came on as Sub I am sure I saw him smile. Now there is a worlds 1st if there ever was one.

Unless there is a big fall over by Utd, I think they will hang on and win the league, but their recent performances have been very suspect. So all we can do is carry on winning and hope they slip up in a couple of games.
Will make for an interesting last few weeks.

Another interesting point I saw last night, was that Cech seemed to be all confident again with his handling of the ball from crosses. He had looked a bit shaky at the start of the season, but seems to be back to normal.
Anyway looking forward to seeing the second leg and hope we can press home our obvious superiority that we have achieved from the 1st leg win.

Sensational game! Nerve wracking or what!!

If you guys don't know, the scoring went 0-1, 0-2, 1-2, 2-2, 3-2, 3-3, 3-4, 4-4, which meant Chelsea ran out as 7-5 winners, but only after Lampards goal in the last couple of minutes secured it, I was expecting Liverpool to get a winner before then! :(

And I thought they had thrown in the towel when they took Torres off!

Our keeper had the worst game I have ever seen and that affected the rest of the team, especially after that first Scouse goal! I thought Chelsea/Drogba's first goal stunning, it looked like the L'Pool goalie had made an error, and maybe it still was, but I don't think so, just amazing how Drogba stretched for that and got just the slightest of touches.

I'm worn out (but sober  ) and need a nice lie-down, if I was in LOS, I would head for a massage to wind down! Bad luck to the Scousers but I hope and pray we don't have to play them in this tournament next year!

That was one of the great european games!

i have never seen such an obvious gap as the one exploited in the first goal

Much better performance last night by United....for 60 minutes anyway.
Fantastic goal by Ronaldo but dont know why the ineffectual Nani was brought on as it handed the impetus to Porto.
Congrats to Arsenal as well in what turned out to be a comfortable win.
So Chelsea v Barcelona,United v Arsenal....4 late nights viewing in LOS plus 1 more as an English team is guaranteed a place in the final again ! 8)
