Any idea on a ball park figure of what this costs? Have a 3 year old car that just had this done and got a hefty bill from Mitsu Hua Hin, the bills translates to "cleaning the air system and unit".
Whats the going rate for this? (I presume all cars need it done every couple of years to keep the a/c cold.)

Hi Buksi
Just caught up with this
It seems that the average 'gassing' lasts about 3 years on most vehicles before something needs to be done.
A proper service should include removal of the A/C 'radiator' to give it a good scrubbing and then refitting, replacement of filters - this varies according to design, drainage of existing gas, recharge with new and then check for any leaks (usually with soapy water).
All done for between 2 - 3,000THB depending on where you go.

Buks, 3000 baht would seem reasonable.
Not sure whether they use all the latest equipment over where you are, but here they now have a machine that evacuates the gas from the system, and then refill with clean gas. Not so many years ago they just used to let the gas out into the air and then refill, but nowadays there are huge fines if they do that.
Normal A/C service here is between $150-200 per time, so 3000baht would seem on par for your cost.
