Visa for TGF
Just lodged TGF's visa for a visit to West Aussie... The process (other then gathering the evidence to prove we had know eachother since Aug 2008) was relatively easy...
Visit to the Visa Application Centre in Bangkok
Non refundable visa charge of approx THB 2500
Service Charge: THB 500
The passport will be ready to collect as of this afternoon however her work collegue is off work until the 7th or 8th so wont be able to go to BKK and open the magic envelope until then....
Just though i would let you know the process is pretty easy if the visa application is legit....and by that i dont mean you met on the second last day of your two week holiday to thailand.
Will know outcome around 7th - 8th May however im pretty sure it will be successfull.

Good luck to you.
I took my wife back to the UK 2.5 years ago and the "unfriendly" Brit Embassy had her visit visa approved in three days.
If you've got the necessary financial, habitable and emotional proof (length of being together) it should be a piece of cake.
Shame the Thai authorities don't seem to reciprocate.

Don't forget the most important criteria you have to meet - reason to leave the UK, or reason to return to Thailand (whichever way you prefer to put it).lomuamart wrote:Good luck to you.

I know that we're talking different countries, but a friend had his girlfriend refused for exactly that ie:she has a job and i dont mean in the bar haha...

- How could her employer give her time off work? The employer would probably retain her replacement. This was despite having a letter from her employer stating the opposite.
- What sort of mother would abandon her child whilst going off on holiday? This was despite a letter explaining the child care arrangements that had been made.
- Finally, they gave no right of appeal.
I'm not trying to scare you Mark, just pointing out that these people are not compassionate, and can make excuses for refusal from nothing.
Personally, I've never had a problem. In fact it makes my blood boil when I hear some of the stupid excuses they make for genuine people like you. I wish you the best fortune in this matter.

Hi Mark,
Australian law is based on U.K law being part of the commonwealth and all that, i am sure you will be o.k, i met a Thai girl and asked others back in the U.K if i could get her over here i was told no chance to soon, well my wife was in the U.K in five and a half months on a fiancee visa, and has been here for three and a half years and now has indefinate leave to remain.
Enjoy your emotional journey its great, also Perth is a great place to be.
Kendo.

Appreciate your reply.... she is only coming for 1 month so we selected the 3 month visa, so she is not coming here for a prolonged amount of time, her employer has written a letter stating she is allowed to have 1 month holiday and they will hold her job open until she returns... In all letters written including the one written myself we included telephone numbers if they required any futher confirmation....we havent heard anything so no news is good news in my book...We will find out Thurs or Friday this week.
As for the son, he lives with his father for schooling reasons, his father works from home so he is there when he gets home from school... both the GF and her mother work, this is the reason he stays in Ratchaburi with his father...
Anyways we will know by the end of this week....fingers crossed.
