Hi

Acquired these young rascals when I arrived in Khon Kaen as a gift.

Anybody have any idea of the type of breed?

Good looking pups Richard. I've seen many like that so probably just a common mix. If you ask/look around you can probably spot the mom.

They look healthy but please take them to a vet for deworming and shots. All pups have worms without exception, and if they are or begin to look tired most of the time and not much mood to play, that's the reason usually.

Here's a link to start with: http://www.puppycare.com/

Many more like that if you Google 'puppy care'. Good luck and have fun. They'll turn into great companions and friends, not to mention burglar alarms. Pete

The grey haired one is possibly an Orangutan!

I'm not sure about the two small ones.

Lovely little chaps Richard but much more stocky than your average Soi pup. Maybe a bit of labby in there? To be honest at the moment they look like mini St Bernards!

Thanks Baabaa :D

Mags you may be right. According to 'er in doors' Mum and Dad are very large broad dogs so the could be some sort of St B's. Now where's my brandy keg.

how the hell do St Bernards end up in Isaan?????

Pete, thanks. Already planned

I don’t know what type of mutts you have there Richard, but if you look after them from puppies the average Thai soi dogs make excellent pets and they are very effective for security.
We’ve got three of them now and they follow my partner around all day which makes me a lot happier about leaving her when I come away working.
If you keep them clean and healthy they turn out to be much better looking than strays as well, we've got two semi-Retrievers and one semi-Alsation.

Thanks SG

We already have plenty of dogs who roam the village andt are extremly good protectors of the family homes. These 2 though are a little special as they were a gift so they will get the 'royal' treatment
