Newbies

Post by ipods »

Hi
We are from the Uk, currently living in Dubai and have just joined the forum and say Hi to everyone.

After only a few months in Dubai became casulties of the downturn and looking for an alternative to returning to the UK.

were delighted to find an active forum for HH as we are looking to move around August.

Found certain info on the site but loads of questions.

We would be hoping for large ish two bedroom accommodation close to the town, beach, nightlife etc with a pool or access to one. we are told 15-20000/mth?? Also will a total of 60,000/month be sufficient to live on, car, golf eating out a few nights per week etc or is that optimistic.

Bit concerned Re the security issues. Is there a crime problem?

Any advice Re medical insurance

Is there more than one airport at Bangkok, if so best one to fly into

Any other advice for Newbies

Look forward to being active members of the site

I am in Qatar at the moment and will be going to Hua Hin in August.

Plenty of places up for rent at the moment and the longer you stay the better deal you will get. 20,000 should get you a 2 bed apartment or villa even with access to a pool near the town centre (about 30K for one with private pool). 60,000 a month should be ok if you dont drink too much although golf is quite expensive (I used to stay in BKK and spent 100K a month but was out most nights)

Dont worry about crime you will feel safer in HH than in the UK :D

You will have to fly to Suvarnabhumi (Swampy) airport as the other (don mueng) is only domestic flights and you can get a taxi to HH from the airport for about 2-3000 bahts which will take around 3-4 hours

Enjoy !!
