I have heard from an 'in the know' guy on a West Ham forum that West Ham are away at Chelsea 1st game and play Bolton last game of the season - he has been right for the last two seasons, but has anyone else heard any others (of any team)?
Hope your not taking his advice on your match predictions for the season.
Still, I'll bet your happier to have Wolves away than Chelsea.
JD,
No I wasn't but he actually came on yesterday and apologised as his source had mixed up something but I didn't bother posting about that! I was more interested to hear if anyone else had inside info really. Away to a newly promoted team is always a tricky one as both players and fans will be well up for it; I actually think playing one of the big guns early on is sometimes better as they are often settling in new blood, both players and in Chelsea's case, managers.
If the rumours are true then the Hammers have already done deals on two players from Inter - Mancini (Brazilian/Italian) and Jiminez (Chile) - and are both meant to be the dogs dangly bits, although of course there is always the 'settling in' proviso. Hopefully both Neill and Upson will stay as well and I think we have the makings of a good season. If Neill goes and Upson stays we will need a right back though and we have been linked with the wonderfully named Rod Fanni! I want us to sign him just to hear the chants that get sung...
