Other bar areas?

Other bar areas?

Post by carlito »

Hi all,

I am planning to go back to Hua Hin in January and was wondering if anyone could elaborate on details of the other bar area near the railway tracks.

I've heard it mentioned a few times (including on this site) but am not sure what it's like.

I know it's more 'thai orientated', but is it just Karaoke bars, or are they more like beer bars?

Any info would be appreciated ;)

If you're refering to the few bars that are along the road between the night market and railway, yes they are an extremely Thai affair.

Unless you can speak pretty good Thai you'll get blank looks and jealous boyfriends in most of these places.

Speaking of other areas I notice Soi Sarawat is becoming its own little nightlife hub with a good 4-5 bars there now.

Hello

There is also a street outside ( cross the railway and after 300 meters right side ) with the "Paradise Disco" and some Karaoke bars which are actuelly very good. I had a short bottle of whisky with some girls and great fun.......

But now I m back to Swiss and must recover my liver

Thanks for the replies guys ;)

Where abouts is the Soi Sarawat area? I can't say it sounds familiar.

Please guys have a look around the website (links at the bottom of this page) before asking the same old questions.

Try the bar map:

Sarawat/Rainoon is the same area.

My old gf is singer there, it is farang friendly, they had many fights and problems long time ago, but now everything's ok, but oh well.. almost no people there, except on friday/saturday ^^

When im read this i think about the thai - disco/bar where there are live music and great fun, (i dont remember exactly where its located but it is on the way from center to mariott hotel on the big street on the right.)

I went with my girlfriend (she is thai) at first i dont know where we go, but she wanted to show me something... we go inside and I see im the only white person in the room, maby there are 200 people in there, at first i think its quite ...what to say.... strange... but when the people on stage start to joke with me in english and everybody laugh because i joke back it became quite funny, when the music take a break, several thai men and girls come to me because they want to talk, and shake my hand, the waiter come with free beer and drinks for me and my girlfriend, and everybody was so nice...

Kang Krachang (or something similar). It is the largest park in Thailand and well worth a visit. It is one of those places like the Golden Gate. If you go ther you have to have a photograph taken.

I was probably sitting at the back!

I thought the band were, erm, okay.

But I have to say that the Thais I was with were having a ball. Did you try any food? I thought sam son(? - sorry, wines kicking in, I mean the stuff with papaya) and "Thai spaghetti" was hot, but what I had there needed emergancy service! The g/f rushed to the bar, a glass full of ice was produced and it took 5 ice cubes, one after the other, just melting on the tongue, slowly, to get some feeling back, but I couldn't talk properly for another 30 minutes at least!!! It was like I had been to the dentist - anyone see Dudley Moore in "10"? That was me - big time.

Went down a bundle with her friends!

Had a similar experience - or accident I should call it - some years ago. Accepted an offer to join a thaifamilie eating. Small kids to. Had one bite and my mouth was burning as hell (I suppose, never been there). To old thailadys took my arms and draw me to the kitchen, where they put a lot of sugar in my mouth. Worked perfect. Few seconds later my problem was over.
The kids btw had a great laugh og (one more) stupid farang.
