pot

Post by LAnative »

Love your description Khundon1975! It is what I expected. But what is the fear of pot all about? In the US it was made illegal after years of mandating it's production for rope and sails. The paper and booze companies didn't want the competition. My use is in the past so I needn't worry but why is the rest of the world following the dictates of the US and making it illegal, yet NOT concerned with alcohol use? I would much rather be driving in front of a pothead than in front of a drunk!
Go figure.

Because the various countries involved seem to think that they can get around the moral issue by taxing drink, but making drugs legal and taxing them is something that would be a step to far for the politicians.
I've lost my mind and I am making no effort to find it.

I would imagine a few complications could arise if any government attempted to ban Alcohol.

(For complications read riots)

highs and lows

Kendo -- No disagreement with you on the personality changes. It wasn't the POT that did that tho', it was "other" stuff which by the way STARTED with alcohol use ( the old "gateway drug" argument) . When you are a gullible and adventurous teen ager you will try a lot of things that will have detrimental effects down the road. Tell me YOU haven't done thingsthat will have lasting detrimental effects?
I may come across as rude and beligerent but trust me it is ONLY in response to insults and putdowns both of which I have had my fill of growing up in the big city. I am actually a nice guy when treated with some degree of respect
Also American culture is less polite and formal than say British might be. We razz each other in gestures of friendliness, not to scare someone away. We also use insults on our enemies. There is the difference of context.

Right BaaBaa,

Prohibition in the U.S. in the 20's/30's just drove the manufacturers and bars underground and gave the "Mob" another way to make bundles of cash!
My brain is like an Internet browser; 12 tabs are open and 5 of them are not responding, there's a GIF playing in an endless loop,... and where is that annoying music coming from?

I stand corrected. I heard it a lot in Oz and assumed it Aussie having never been to UK. What is the derivation? Once heard it came from 2 bugs mating butt to butt.
