Hoping the expats can help me plan my holiday!

Post by garethj »

Hi,

Really keen on any suggestions you might have for me. I'm going to be in HH at the end of October.
We are a family of five with children of ages 1,3 and 10. We'll have transport (not 4wd) for the week and I'm quite happy to find places on the map and get us there.

Looking for day trips or half day trips that we would all enjoy. we could manage reasonable walks that didn't permit a buggy.

I've seen some nice looking tours online but as we've got the car I want to do this myself and help my knackered sterling go a bit further!

I like the look of the national parks, caves and waterfalls and also the kayaking. Would also be keen on zoos or animal parks and an elephant ride at some point would be great.

I've also seen boat trips to small islands with snorkelling, are these trips any good?

Any advice you could give me that would help me plan my holiday outings using my own transport and not tour operators would be really appreciated.

Looking forward to your suggestions.

Many thanks for your help.

Well I'm not an ex-pat yet, but you could do worse than starting here:

And then scrolling down the menu's on the right hand side.

I'd recommend a visit to here, for starters:

And from the beach at Dolphin Bay, taking a fishing boat over to Monkey Island, the kids will love that!
