I'm trying to find grass seeds. No one seems to be able to help me when I ask around town. I want to re-seed parts of my lawn that is not growing well and also to plant grass in a new area.
Do any of you know where you can buy them? Home pro don't have them, none of the places where you can buy plants has them.....
cheers

Grass Seeds
Unless things have changed in the last 12 months then you stand no chance, I went through this, even asked at the golf club where I am a member but nothing. I got a reply from a guy who brought 10 kilos back from the UK in his luggage and it was like curry to a piss head to every bug and bird in Thailand. So good luck !!

It does seem strange as there are sod farms here and they have to start with some kind of seed.
The garden shops that sell sod seem to have two types; the broad leaf Thai type that looks like your lawn is covered with large green spiders, and the more dense and even type, what I would call western type grass, used on golf courses.
The former seems to do much better in sun or shade and needs little maintenance.
The latter is what I have and does not do well in shade at all, in fact it dies. It's also susceptible to more diseases like brown spot and things I have no idea what they are. You also need to sprinkle nitrogen or similar about every two months to keep it thick and green along with a lot of watering in the dry season.
If I had to do it all over again, I'd go with the Thai broad leaf type. Even though it doesn't look that picturesque, it's hardy. Pete
