26 injured in 7-vehicle pileup in Prachuap Khirikhan
Prachuap Khirikhan - A pileup involving a passenger bus and six other vehicles here injured 26 people, police said.
Police said the accident happened at 2 am on the southbound Phetchakasem Road in Tambon Bornok of Muang district.
Police said the speeding Bangkok-Surat Thani air-conditioned bus slammed into a car, that was struck in traffic. The car in turn hit other vehicles, leading to the seven-vehicle pileup.
Police said the traffic congestion was caused by a truck that slipped into the ditch in the middle of the road about 3 kms away from the pileup scene.
Unfortunately this was an accident waiting to happen. These southbound night buses are crazy and I'm pleased to see the traffic lights in Hua Hin are now working after 10pm, although I don't understand why these buses don't use the bypass road?
