Wimbledon Final - solves a problem...

Post by Vital Spark »

Yes it's late, but I've just finished watching Roddick beat Murray. The best man won. :D

Thank goodness for that! Both Mr.VS and I are Roger Federer fans, and to have Andy Murray in the final would have thrown Mr.VS in a quandry. Who to support? Being a Scot Mr.VS would feel obliged (if not compelled) to support a fellow Scot, but he fully admits that Murray is just...well...a tad boring (apart from saying the 'F' word).

Having the Williams mob in the Ladies' final doesn't thrill me at all. I think I can find something else to do tomorrow, and I don't really care which one of them wins.

Looking forward to a good game on Sunday. My fingers are firmly crossed for Federer, but do you think Andy Roddick can do it?

If Murray had won he would have been deemed a victorious Brit. However now he is out he is just another failed Scot.

He got no further in Wimbledon than Henman despite the fact he was supposed to have been better than him.

Very soon his carrear like Henmans will be yesterdays budgie cage liner. Oh hum... :|

Baabaa: Oh, yes he is!

Maybe it's a female thing, but he just has that 'je ne sais quoi'...

The trouble with any sport nowadays is that the players/drivers are programmed by the sponsors to deliver a pre-written spiel when they win or lose a game or race, and you rarely get to see their true character.

Just hope he wins. :)

RC: Mr.VS gets really annoyed when a Scot's doing well he's 'British' (all the union jacks are out), but when he fails he's Scottish. I wonder what the headlines in the tabloids are going to say tomorrow?

Biggest disappointment was Dementieva losing in the semi final so we had to endure the Williams sisters again yesterday.
Apparently one of them has been in the final at Wimbledon for 9 out of the last 10 years. :(
Its like being back in the dark ages of Martina Navratilova winning everything.
Have to hope that Sharapova and Ivanovic regain some form next year as well as Dementieva continuing to improve.
Reckon its Federer for a record 6th time in the mens final today...no ploplem !

I certainly did Pete. :D

Andy Roddick is such a sweety - he still managed to crack a joke at the end of the match, and to be quite honest I thought that he deserved to win. Even Roger looked a tad embarrassed when he finally nailed it, maybe he thought the same thing...

Maybe he was cringing at the overblown outfits he enters the court in and the second one he rushes to put on before receiving the trophy with 15 embroidered on the back.

Obviously dismissed Roddick before the match.

I've now found out how he won!

One of my lovely Thai colleagues was praying to his unborn baby to support his soon-to-be father (apparently this is the done thing :? ), and another promised to eat a vegetarian diet for three weeks. Apparently she started off with one week, and when it got a bit iffy at the end she added a couple of more weeks. :|

Nothing to do with skill, strength or stamina of course...

VS

PS: Mr. Crazy, how dare you criticise Rog's haute couture! I thought his jacket when he came out was, well, ummmm interesting, and the one at the end was just in case. A bit like Rossi when he does the job.
