What is it?
Diplomacy is the ability to tell a man to go to hell so that he looks forward to making the trip

A couple of punches, then they roll around on the floor for the next ten minutes. Boring. :(

'Cage fighting' - of which UFC is the most successful and widely known promotor/governing body/franchise - has become a bit of a phenomenon in the last ten years and gets huge crowds, particularly in the US.

However, if the basic idea of locking two blokes in a cage isn't distasteful enough, the so called action can be seen outside any city centre pub at throwing out time if you hang around long enough.

All the nobility of the martial arts disciplines that produced many of its exponents seems to have been left behind by them.

Still, takes all kinds I s'pose.

Jaime :)

I did Shotokan for almost 20 years (until the bones gave out) and I agree, there is nothing noble about this cage fighting.

Nice one :D

I've been doing shotokan for only a few months after watching my kids do it for the last 3 years!

Wish I'd taken it up years ago but better late than never! Now the kids are in competitions all over the place I thought it would make sense to get involved as it's cheaper for me to get in with a gi on rather than as a mere spectator!

Good luck, you will need it to catch up with the kids, they learn so fast.

Been there, done it & saved the entrance fee. At decent competitions, the coaches also get free tea, coffee and sometimes lunch :D
