Shopping furniture

Hi everybody.

I am soon moving to Hua Hin.
I have bought a house in Soi 94, and the house is none furnished.
So my question is.

Where is the best place to by furnitures in Hua Hin?

I need everything. Sitting, sleeping, eating etc.

Hi Gunnar, we were in the same position last year, we did not want the teak furniture that lasts a lifetime, which in our opinion makes a room look gloomy. We bought most of our furniture from the Index/Winner complex,(ask for a loyalty card), and most of our electrical items from Big Kiang which is opposite Market Village.

Hua Hin is flush with new furniture stores that have opened in the last couple of years with the housing boom. I'd suggest you take your time and look up and down Phetkasem road all through town. There is a lot on offer, especially at the extreme North end and South ends of town (Index and that area, and the area near the land office on both sides of the road).

Hi,
we found some nice individual items in the little shops on the opposite side of the road to the land office. They will barter a little.

Winner also have some good basics ie mattresses and they will deliver.

As Hhfarang said there are lots of nice small shops to browse now but be careful of prices and do some comparisons, we saw the same outdoor set in 2 shops, one double the price of the other.

It will cost exactly as much as you are willing to spend.

I bought a bedrooom cupboard for the guest room for 2 790 Baht and a cupboard for the master bedroom for 41 600 Baht. So this is the range of prices for most furniture.

Pitsch is bang on it depends on what you want and your personal taste .Full packages are available from various places .A professional shopper will save you WAY more than they charge you and save you time .The last place we furnished I costed at around 900k with my own bargaining skills .591k by the time the girls had gone to work .All deliveries and paperwork organised and supervised .I don,t buy anything myself,unless at fixed price places .

My first house that I furnished when I came to Hua Hin was a cheepy house and I only wanted cheepy furniture as I was not sure how long I would be here. Deciding that I would stay here I bought a bigger place and decided to furnish it to a higher standard, having absolutly no taste I was glad to come across Beautiful World. Karen the owner put together a package to do the whole house and the result is stunning and to be honest it wasn't that much more expensive than what I had paid at Winner to furnish the cheepy house.
Beautiful World is on the same side as Index but a few hundred yards further out of Hua Hin.

Big Kiang has a furniture outlet on Soi 112 with lots of stuff. There is also a very modest looking shop on the Canal Road, about midways between its southern beginning and the Hua Hin Hospital. It does not look much from the outside, more like a general store, but it has loads of relatively inexpensive furniture inside. Also a good source for various hardware, tools, garden equipment.

Right you are, Soi 114 and Phetkasem it is. Big Kiang has a very large selection of all kinds of furniture, as does the store on the Canal Road. Prices appear to be lower in the latter shop. While the quality and design of furniture found at Index resembles that available from IKEA stores, the quality at Big Kiang and the Canal Road store is, IMHO, substandard. However, many will find this to be OK as a first and limited time investment.
