salt water system CPSC serie Compu Pool products

Post by hurm »

In the future I will install a salt water system for my pool. After studying the options I think I go for the self cleaning system of the Compu Pool CPSC system. My pool is 6x3x1,60m. Which one do I need, where to buy in or around Hua Hin, Costs?

Hurm,
You will find lots more detailed info by doing a google search and also on the swimming pool section of another popular thai forum. Salt water chlorinators are very popular in Australia - as a guide here they cost from about 45,000 baht for a 60,000 litre model. May be cheaper to import one yourself. Not sure if available in Hua Hin but are in Phuket and Pattya.

Here's some pictures of a system from Australia. A friend carried two as checked luggage and went through the green line and was not questioned. Luck perhaps. The cost in Baht was 32,000. The Deluxe model shown has a timer to coordinate to come on when your filter timer comes on. There is one better model with no timer where the unit automatically comes on when your filter comes on. I think the cost of that is about 38,000 Baht. Pete:cheers:

Further to the above, the 300 system pictured is for pools over 60,000 liters capacity. The smallest system made by them I think is the 150 and I guess about 21,000 Baht equiv. No idea what these systems would cost in Thailand, perhaps 50% more? Pete

Thank you very much!!! So I need to build a small poolhouse as well! I still do not know where to buy them in Hua Hin, Pukhet has them. But indeed, maybe cheaper to buy outside thailand. So for my small pool filter and compu total will be about 50-70.000 bht incl installation.

Hurm, see the below link. That unit looks smaller than the others and perhaps better for your size pool? I don't know the price though. The web site also has a 'contact' tab. Perhaps you can email them and ask if they have any distributors here in Thailand. All of these units are weather proof. You don't need a pool house, just put them on a wall.

In addition, the below company seems to have branches in Bangkok, Phuket and Hua Hin. They list salt chlorinators but not the same type. Pete

(I removed the link as a possible conflict with some HHAD advertisers.)

Hurm, I PM'd you the link. Pete

You need to very careful with this equipment, and research it as much as possible. The "local" agents will try the same price rort as some of the better known tourist places.

I also have an Australian made unit, "Electrochlor". I needed a replacement cell grid, just the internal part that actually produces the chlorine. After about a month of trying with the Bangkok agents, I ended up getting a generic replacement posted from Australia. Total cost with freight and import tax, was 10,000 Baht.
The agent wanted 35,000 Baht for the cell, and 51,800 for the control unit!

I have not had anything to do with the unit Pete has shown, but I will say that you need to try and stick to the most simple type, as that unit appears to be. Units with fancy electronic displays, and digital timers suffer badly from the poor electrical supply, and can turn into an expensive exercise. It is possible to buy and import a basic complete unit from Australia, pay some tax on it, and still be a way in front.

Please bear in my mind that 'automatic self cleaning' systems require non-automatic manual cleaning, a lot of equipment packs up because this is not carried out.
