Alonso told the BBC that what was left of the old F1 would be inferior.

"Formula 1 is finished. It will be a standard engine, small teams and no drivers - this is not the Formula 1 people want," the Spaniard said.

"The new series will be the new Formula 1."

We already have a championship where the cars are the same...A1 GP

The fans love the sport as it is and dont want a budget cap...The past 2 seasons have been so exciting and its great to watch the big names fighting with the best technoogy can offer...DONT RESTRICT PROGRESS :guns:

Oh dear, I've just stumbled across this thread. I know it's a bit late in the season and things have changed somewhat, but I voted anyway. I wanted to split the vote half to Jensen and half to Sebastian, but I think Jensen will do it.

I just hope the next race is a little bit more exciting than Silverstone was on Sunday. Got the ironing board out...

TS: We certainly don't want F1 to mirror A1 GP, otherwise I'll be ironing Mr.VS's underwear just to relieve the boredom - not sure where he wants the creases in his Y-fronts.

As an F-1 fan since the late eighties I'm glad to see the recent stupidity resolved - at least for now.

WRT Mr. Mosely - over the years he has actually done a reasonable job but with last years 'nazi orgy' fiasco and his recent 'rulings' it's time to move on.

My only concern is that there might be a backroom takeover by Ferrari!

Anyway - let's get on with a season that is turning into a real cracker - with hopefully more teams on the grid next year.

Barrichello's car failure put Ferrari's Massa in hospital

Methinks, a very lucky man to survive.

There was quite a nice comment from Alex Yung (a rarity in itself) that you never tell the medics that you lost consciousness. If you do, you have to rest for 2 weeks and can't race.

I can just imagine Massa saying 'No problem. I knew exactly what was happening when I careered into the tyres. Honest! I was fully conscious and just decided to park the car quickly'.

Steve Slater was milking the drama. Coming up with a whole bunch of possibilities as to why Massa crashed, bringing in the death of Henry Surtees and generally being a complete idiot. Why, oh why, does Star continue to employ such tw*t?

Great day of motorsport tomorrow. Don't forget to watch MotoGP at Donnington. :D

HMmmmmmm - Fractured skull. Maybe he wasn't as lucky as first thought.

I think he'll be taking a bit more than the mandatory 2 week rest now.

Seems that he now has suffered damage to his left eye.

If it is serious, it could well be the end of his racing days.

I must say, that is one injury that I find hard to understand. Gordon Banks baffled me as well.

OK, if you try to do things with one eye closed, it is strange, but it is a condition I would have thought your brain would adjust to - eventually. I know that I must be wrong, but as I said - it baffles me.

Dear oh dear how will he survive without his multi million pound contract every year?

He's young, handsome, has millions in the bank, a beautiful wife and a bucketful of mansions.

I worry for his future I really do... :|

Gordon didn't have to track a ball at 180mph. If you cannot see out of your left eye because of a blind spot, you are finished in motor racing.

Sad if that is the case.
