Am going back to the Uk in the next few weeks and fancied trying the VIP bus instead of a taxi .. Also is the sky train connected to the airport yet or am i just wishful thinking

Sorry if this has already been posted. Had a look but cant find the info i require. Where do you catch the VIP bus from? Is it the new bus terminal just past Market Village. Called in today to find out but no one could speak any English and my Thai is Nit Noy.. And where does it drop you off in Bangkok? Is it central or near any connections ie.. underground, skytrain?

I don't think there's a VIP bus service to Bangkok, depends on what you mean by VIP.
The bus station past Market Village only serves Korat and Chiang Mai.
For Bangkok take the blue and white air-con bus service around corner from Night Market near the Boat restaurant.

There's also a green & white bus service (no air con)which is slower and the minibus van services.
Buses arrive at new Southern Bus station which is a bit far out but taxi rank there. 3 or 4 of the daily departures also stop at Mo Chit bus station which is a few minutes walk to Sky train Station.
Minibus goes to Victory Monument.
New airport train not fully operating yet to Makasan in BKK.

I hate to sound pedantic, but the Bus station south of Market Village also serve routes to Phuket and the deep south in addition to the Northern routes already mentioned.
The fastest and the most macho way of getting to Bangkok is by taking the minibus.

The fastest train between Hua Hin and Bangkok is the sprinter.
This Surat Thani bound train leaves Bangkok at 08.05 and is scheduled to arrive in Hua Hin at 11.11. For the return journey the train leaves Hua Hin at 16.01 and arrives at Hualompong Station at 19.45.
I would recommend booking a few days in advance. This last weekend I omitted to book until the last minute and could not get a seat. There is a first come/first served slow train leaving Hualompong at 9.20 which is scheduled to arrive in Hua Hin at 13.20. Last Saturday it was only ten minutes late - but it is slow.
I (wrongheadedly) decided to return to Bangkok by bus. I assumed that my bus would go to the new Southern Bus Terminal - giving me the choice of taxi, aircon bus or van to take me to my Bangkok home. The bus did not enter the new bus terminal but stopped on the main road opposite the terminal. Passengers were finally kicked off on the busy main road near the Prapinklao-Charansanitwong intersection. Not the best place to hail a taxi on a Sunday evening!
If this is normal 'Pranburi Tours' business practice it would be better to take one of the buses to Morchit - where there are an array of transport options to complete one's journey home.
Or it might be best to take the minibus or the train - depending on whether one's desire for speed overrides one's concern for safety.

The Dusit Hotel has a Sprinter Minibus that goes between BKK & the Hua Hin Dusit Thani Hotel by Silom that I believe you can pay to use. A forum member will likely have more details but I read about them starting this servce a year ago & I think I've seen it a couple of times. Might be worth to call hotel.

the dusit hotel in bangkok runs a daily minibus to hua hin , leaves at 3pm , takes 2.5 hours. cost 600b.it will drop you at the dusit just north of hua hin , and then transfer you into hua hin if you wish.its a comfortable trip , water and newspapers provided.
you will need to call them first to book , 022369999 , ask for the sprinter to hua hin. the minibuses from victory monument leave every half hour or so , about 200b , and take you to the market in hua hin , less comfortable than the dusit bus , and they sometimes drive very fast.
